QCAA

Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority

QCAA Website

The QCAA is responsible for kindergarten guideline and senior secondary syllabus development, and for providing resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs from kindergarten to Year 12. It also provides testing, assessment, moderation, certification and vocational education and training services to Queensland’s education community.

QCE

Queensland Certificate of Education.

This is the high school certification upon the successful completion of Years 11 and 12 in Queensland.

ATAR

Australian Tertiary Admission Rank

ATAR is the primary mechanism used nationally for tertiary admissions and indicates a student’s position relative to other students.

QTAC

Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre

QTAC Website

Responsibility for calculating and issuing the ATAR has been assigned to the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) on behalf of Queensland tertiary institutions.

QTAC administers the application and offer process for tertiary institutions in Queensland (and a few institutions interstate) and has over four decades of experience in tertiary admissions.
